Care Packages

The USO Care Package Program provides service members with essential snack and toiletry items specifically designed to support them during deployment, during disaster response, and while in transit. When deploying, service members are often in situations or locations where they do not have access to snack foods or basic toiletry items. USO field locations also assemble and delivery custom care packages to service members and families based on needs in their communities.

As service members return from deployment, many single or unaccompanied service members return to an empty room in the barracks or base dormitories, with their family and friends unable to be there. In an effort to provide these heroes with a better welcome home, the USO began working with corporate donors to create Care Packages. Each package contains shower shoes, a towel, wash cloth, toiletry items, and a note to welcome the service member home. Distributed by the military personnel checking the service members into the barracks, these offer a small token of our gratitude for their service and fresh items to make their new place feel a bit more like home.

In partnership with many different sponsors and community partners, we build and distribute thousands of welcome home, back-to-school, activity, and other care kits for service members (local and deployed) and their families throughout our intermountain region of Nevada, Utah, and Arizona
