Mortgage company kicks off campaign to benefit military children through local USO’s
New Jersey-based company Freedom Mortgage announced today the start of its annual “Rucksacks to Backpacks” campaign, providing school supplies to children of active duty military, National Guard members, and reservists.
The program will enable kids in grades K-8 to get school supplies through distribution events held by numerous USO locations, including USO Arizona and Bob Hope USO in the West Region.
The campaign runs through July 16 and Freedom Mortgage welcomes anyone to make a donation online. According to a press release from Freedom Mortgage, “Each USO will purchase the most-needed back-to-school supplies from the money raised and distribute them locally in July and August to meet the needs of their military communities.”
The company says that by reaching its goal of $125,000, it will be able to provide the necessary supplies for about 3,500 children. Make a donation to the campaign..
